Absurd. Harding did not become mega wealthy via his three-years in office. Rather, like Biden, he was a Dark Horse thrown in because Hoover would not accept the Republican nomination in 1920. Instead, Hoover ran the US Government as a member of Harding's cabinet! This was so well known that political cartoons of the period recorded it. Harding was even more asleep at the wheel than Biden. Hoover also ran the US Government during the Coolidge years. Remember silent Cal? Hoover was doing all of the talking, of course. While FDR ran the government from 1933-1945, Hoover -- de facto -- ran the government from 1921-1933. Harding and Coolidge merely rubber stamped what Congress passed. And the Republican Congress of that era was listening to Hoover -- all the time.
Harding, like Grant, was too trusting. Compared to the corruption of the Clintons and Bushes, Harding comes off as a saint.
Grant became so broke that Congress had to establish a retirement fund for ex-presidents. Yup.
Grant's cabinet was epic in the corruption department. Harding's cabinet was a tempest in a teapot by comparison.
( Bush 41 and Clinton 42, jointly, made $1,500,000,000 of Haitian relief disappear. The Haitians are still howling. The funds did finance his daughter's wedding, so at least some good came of all that charity money entrusted to the two presidents.)
