You're mostly right. The kicker with rare earth minerals is that Red China has a MONOPOLY on their processing. YES! Red China is importing the unrefined ores from all over creation so as to convert them into workable metals/ elements. EG Vietnam is a major player -- and ALL of its rare earths head straight north to Red China. (!) Unlike ANY other metals, rare earths are a nightmare to isolate from each other. Indeed, they were so difficult that they were only isolated and named in the late 1800s -- in Sweden -- hence all of their Swedish and European names. The CCP has managed to keep secret -- even from the Americans and Swedes -- how they are currently processing them. Lastly, Red China is so intensely exploiting their own deposits (Inner Mongolia) that most calculations show them running dry in only ten-years. [ Commercially, RE are never purified like copper, silver, gold, iron - one must settle for a blend.] (We're talking about the easy stuff. BTW, their mines would never pass any Western government standard.)

You must never forget oil flow CONSTIPATION. Siberian oil is warm underground, but does not stay that way when it finally comes out. Should the flow stop -- FREEZE -- Putin is screwed. The industry statistics are that the well is lost -- forever. Further, everywhere the oil stops, it's a nightmare to unfreeze it and get it to flow. It's so difficult that one must wait for Summer -- and STILL use extreme methods to get things flow. Putin will never be able to pull it off. BTW, those destroyed refineries -- they do require Western tech. Even the Chinese would have to start from a dead stop.

What do you mean? Trump has flatly said that he's not willing to be Europe's Big Daddy. Trust him on that.
