Neom is going to be east of the Red Sea, east of Sinai. It's also going to cross a geologically active fault zone. You know, the one that caused the tribulations noted by the Hebrews in the time of Moses. When they happen, sulfurous, fuming eruptions there run on for months, even years. ( Ask a geologist. ) The fault system there is responsible for the mountains of Mecca and Medina -- down the coast. What's even stranger -- running Neom THROUGH the mountains -- over a fault zone -- off into no-where. It has no suitable port in its scheme, either. It would need one rivaling Liverpool, New York City, Antwerp, Hong Kong. It also has NO provision for industrial, agricultural, or resource exports. Its ability to consume economic inputs will be unrivaled -- of course. MBS should've put his money into cutting swales down the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. As it stands, what rain that does fall -- shoots straight back down into the Red Sea.
