@davidgmillsatty1900 But Russia does NOT control the skies. It can't stop the Ukrainian railroad, either. The Black Sea is transitioning into no-man's sea. Harpoons will do that.

@ChuckAmadi Actually, leave the bridges alone. Shoot at the approaches. Logistically, the impact must be the same.

@davidgmillsatty1900 Kyiv lies astride the Dnieper. It still has its bridges. Ukraine's trains are still rolling everywhere. So, like Russia, its logistical tail is actually short. (A single rail line can supply an entire army, say 250,000 men.)

@jonathanedwardgibson Actually, M198 and M777 are pretty easy to operate. The only thing new about them is their aiming electronics. -- And those are 'black boxes' that the crew need not understand. The bulk of the crew will be engaged in just feeding the beast. Towing and deployment is scarcely different for any of these beasts. All of this is exactly why the West is gifting towed howitzers instead of SPA. For them to 'work' they need extended range, smart munitions. Otherwise, the Russians would slaughter the crews with their SPA. To date, Ukrainian artillery -- in conjunction with drones -- have just slaughtered Russian armor. See: Internet videos, aplenty.

@dougcoombes8497 There's nothing wrong with the M198. The US Army simply put it on a (airmobile) diet: M777.
3
@huntergatherer7796 They will become spare parts, instead.

Push Putin out of power. Problem solved. The Russian boys don't even want to be there.

@eaglesnest1960 Is Putin willing to risk a full scale holocaust over Ukraine? It'll be his finger on the Big Button -- not Biden's. The latter won't have any decision to make. Atomic release will be, by that stage, automatic. Will Putin's boys destroy their entire world to make Putin happy?
1
@dougcoombes8497 Clearly, they are being flown in... no time for oceanic shipment. I do expect plenty of M198s to show up -- later. They are surplus to need in the US Army at this point.
1
@cosplayshop I'd say M777 simply because they are being flow in by C-17 planes. I figure that M198s will be arriving -- in later waves -- by sea. These are surplus to US Army needs.
1
@SurfinScientist The so-called Separatists are an arm of the KGB/FSB. They are Putin's boys... every last one a Putinista.
1
@troymash8109 Bingo. We have a winner. Further, Putin can't invoke levée en masse -- as this is but a Special Military Operation. He's not holding off Adolf. Instead, HE'S Adolf.
1
@mar-c3y Putin already has two bridges to Crimea -- across the Kerch Straight. The whole 'land bridge' schtick is BS. He wants to destroy Ukraine's industrial economy. Mariupol is Ukraine's 'Steel City.'

I must disagree. The Russian Army will leave, en masse, when politics change, when Putin is out. Putin can't (long) survive a Pyrrhic victory... which is the best that he can obtain at this point. His war is about to descend into World War One 2.0 -- and if your remember -- it, WWI 1.0, was an artillery driven war, too. Drones hugely supplant counter-battery radar. The latter gets saturated during Russian bombardments. Whereas a geo-located drone -- with its optics -- reveals Russian guns. Beyond that, Switchblades are, plainly, designed for countering SPA. The latter are huge and not so well armored. They are loaded with ammo. Boom!
