  1. I simply cannot believe that you could crank out this video and leave out FREON -- which also dates from 1938. C-Cl2-F2 - aka R12 - used to be the primary refrigerant for our automobiles -- worldwide. It also has a nasty habit of taking chlorine up into the Stratosphere where it cripples partial pressures of ozone -- aka O3. I pitched fluorine research to my professor, Rowland, in 1974 -- noting that he'd "become world famous" if he did so. (Nobel 1995) So, yeah, I triggered the Montreal accord that Al Gore is so proud of -- many, many years afterwards. On the way, the tale touched, myself, the originator, Rowland, Molina, Margaret Thatcher (quite the chemist, didn't you know?), -- who was critical for getting the Commonwealth on board with banning Freons. This chain is why the world is now obsessed with carbon dioxide on the pretext that it's going to cook the planet. BTW, you can read Rowland's Big Fib about how he was inspired to research chloro-fluoro-carbons -- it's still on the Internet. It's pure BS. I'm the kid that inspired him. I had to bend his ear to get him going down the right path. You would not know this if you read his fable. But, if he revealed the truth, he'd never get his Nobel. Go figure. The Committee actually believed that he initiated the chain -- not knowing I existed. PFOA is a joke compared with the Freon family. No-one could ever leave the atmosphere to avoid UV radiation.
