@mohamedsanogho8361 Western loans are at BELOW market rates. The profit is in the export of First World manufactures into these projects -- stuff like Big Dam equipment -- that has no market back home -- which is totally built out by now. That's the politics of these deals. The EXPORTERS push them through. The loan funds have to be spent back -- largely -- in the First World: hydro-turbines, alternators, computer controls, exotic valves, expertise. The target nation gets a nice dam -- which can then only pay off the debt IF THE LOCAL ECONOMY IS PRODUCTIVE ENOUGH. Typically it simply is not -- and never had a chance to do so. Most 3rd World societies want electricity -- but can't afford it. They don't produce anything much outside of poverty. ( Think Kenya. )

Year after year, banks WRITE OFF loans to the Third World -- usually in huge tranches at a single go. On the cuff credit to the 3rd World got rolling -- during the Truman administration. It was an adjunct to the Cold War. Hydropower projects were the next Big Thing because of Hoover dam, Grand Coulee dam turning out to be blow-out successes for Hoover and FDR. { Think also of the BPA and the TVA... both of which are still functioning. } The High Aswan dam was a Western project -- until Nasser's shift caused the USSR to bail it out. These mega-projects were the template for the stuff you think began in the 1970s. BTW, the typical Western Third World loan is at well-below-market-rates. It's the price of the imported stuff from the First World that's over-priced. And no-one over-prices like Red China. These debtors are NOT allowed to 'shop' -- to put the funds toward infrastructure that is openly bid. Further, the 3rd World pols have their hands in -- for BUCKETS of cash. One satellite scheme for Brazil was revealed to have $100,000,000 in bribes for Brasilia's pols -- courtesy of Parisian banks -- essentially a 10% commission for their support. The NSA/US Commerce Department blew the deal up and forced the Brazilians to KEEP their bribes and NOT give France the master contract. This hit to their balance sheets caused the national government of France to advance $$$$$ so as to shore up their balance sheets. The Enarcs were furious. { Google the term. It's a hoot.}

Remo Gaggi No, no, no. The typical Western scheme is to build electric hydro-power dams. Even one of these monsters can -- and often does -- suck down billions. See: Itaipu dam -- Brazil and Bolivia. Western monies built most of Pakistan's hydro-projects. In 1953 a project was started in Afghanistan. (!) it remained uncompleted even in 2008. (!!!) Its location meant that it could not be kept out of brigand hands -- all this time. The whole affair has been written off -- abandoned at the last moment. (!) The last generator was in-country -- but couldn't be shipped in safety to the dam. After phenomenal expense, it was scrapped. Railroads were THE thing in the 19th Century. No longer. ( France financed the Tran-Siberian Railway. Many consider the project to be the source of Russia's financial downfall prior to WWI. Most of the run was totally un-economic. And that's the real problem here. Red China is building totally un-economic projects all over -- especially inside Red China. Check out its collection of Ghost Cities. They are immense. They even have their own YT videos.

@evano5635 Most of the MSM is government controlled, Europe, Russia, Red China -- or is run by American corporate executives who are merely rich -- not ultra-rich or even very-rich. Instead, they are in love with influence and narrative control -- more towards being Pope than King. It's a different mind-set, but still ego addictive.

fireson23 Red China is NOT shifting manufacturing into Africa. Rather, it's trying to replicate the British Empire. That's the model that Beijing is working towards. Beijing is spewing out addictive drugs in honor of its own Opium Wars -- of the 1830s -- against British drug pushers. Africa simply does not have any locations that heavy industry desires. Most African ports are crappy, cramped, shallow and small. Electric power is usually very iffy -- especially at the scale required by industry. 3rd World roads are a joke. In contrast, Africa has astounding natural resources: diamonds, oil, gold, exotic metals of every type, athletes and farmland.

fireson23 There are MANY videos on YT detailing the nations in ultra-deep debt to Red China... which pretty much is the entire list of nations taking the CCP's deals.

@nickg1895 In a reverse Hong Kong, Red China is creating fresh Hong Kongs all over Africa -- and much else. Remember that Hong Kong was initially started as war reparations consequent to the Opium Wars in the early 19th Century. This was the foundation of the Delano family's super wealth, BTW. As in Franklin DELANO Roosevelt. Yeah, it's not really a middle name. {In Britain the style would've been to hyphenate FDR's last name.} Now you know were the CCP got its inspiration.
