  1. Using 'platform' as jargon is not helpful. The essence of the techno-military equation: smart ordnance makes the prior art largely obsolete. Smart weapons overwhelm steel armor. In its own way, this is a repetition of the end of mounted knights. Obviously, Bullets did them in. The F-35 does not belong in his 'platform' equation. It's brilliant, itself. It's also camouflaged against smart weapons - as they can't 'see' it. The Javelin can be countered -- but to do so will require smart armor. (No nation yet fields smart armor, of course.) He is entirely wrong about signature personalities. Napoleons, Churchills, Lincolns, Washingtons DO have a staggering impact. Russia's imperial bent is ENTIRELY a sub-set of Putinism. He's keeping his proles entirely in the dark -- as best he can. In this, Putin is demonstrating that Russians are NOT on board with his 'project.' The average Ivan -- in the ranks -- is deserting/ defecting. Ackerman is still too young to scope unfolding events. He does show promise.
