  1. Who could forget such a cute toy? It was manufactured in Austria -- with the original thought that it'd replace pack animals for mountain troops -- sometimes. When the Germans came knocking it was re-pitched as the perfect prime-mover for airborne troops. Then, during 1941, it was re-purposed to solve the Russian mud season... and snow season. The Austrians cranked these out like they were jeeps. Still, they had those nasty interleaved road wheels.
