BTW, a tank war was something that Turkey was entirely unable to deal with. Check out those mountains and highlands. Turkey also had no defense against the Red Air Force. Turkey was a tad light on aviation fuel and motor fuel. Indeed, she was a tad light on everything a WWII combatant power needed to be a player. Turkey was way behind even Italy. She also had absolutely nothing to stop the Royal Navy from spanking her silly. In the meantime, London was stuffing Ankara's mouth with CASH and Trade. IIRC, Turkey was getting all of its oil from the United Nations. Berlin didn't have enough to even cover Italy -- let alone sell of to a neutral power.
