Drazo Seyouka, No, his parents were born in Gujarat, British India, - they were British citizens, that was their nationality, but they were Parsi and practiced Zoroastrianism, which is from Iran. So even though they were British, their heritage was Persian. They were in Zanzibar working for the British Colonial Office, and that is where Freddie was born. It was then called, "The British protectorate of Sultanate of Zanzibar". Freddie always identified himself as Persian, though he never lived in Iran. When civil unrest broke out in Zanzibar, the family had to flee, and went to live in England.
