I'd agree with a lot of this, but I believe that it's worse than you think. It's not ego. It's self-righteousness. With a hard push of propaganda, these are the type of person to intern their own family in the name of "the greater good". Or worse.

@artcurious807 Nothing wrong with atheism except that religious participation reinforces family values. Doesn't mean atheists are unable to have proper morals or good family values. But people refuting religion just to jump on a bandwagon or go along with their crowd really need to consider what is important in their lives.
