@markberryhill2715 How does it compare? The VC signed a peace treaty in 73, we left, they attacked Saigon 2 years later.

@markberryhill2715 Did the British or Russians install a functioning Republic with a judiciary, executive and legislative branch with democratically elected representation, limited terms and a system of checks & balances? Their people have seen a world without the oppression of religious law or communist rule and even the Taliban has transformed from it, now reinterpreting their texts to be more in tune with women's rights and human rights. Over the years of US intervention the population of Kabul has risen from 500,000 to over 5 million. The city is full of commerce and reinvigorated infrastructure, new buildings and western style roads. The USA didn't try to "conquer" Afghanistan. The Taliban in Afghanistan was all but defeated in 2003. Did the USA implement martial law or inequality? Did it create a colony? Did it sponsor a dictatorship? No, it helped them elect multiple presidents while building schools, farms and roads. Here's one big difference; We're leaving the country better off than how we found it. You can actually see the difference from space. Compare satellite photos from 2006 and today, you can see green from space today, 100% due to drip irrigation technologies implemented by US Army engineers. Quite a difference.

@doraancilliers2999 The USA is evil, really? The USA gives more food, financial and medical aid to the world than THE REST OF THE WORLD COMBINED. Let that sink in. Now go enjoy your corn flakes.

You've got that a bit backwards. We don't live in the age of nuclear threat anymore, we live in an age of conventional warfare. You know, missiles, bullets, tanks and jets?

@gabemendoza1052 Perhaps you should look into the Non-Proliferation Treaty. I hope you're not under the assumption that China is a nuclear threat.

@gabemendoza1052 Mmmm, who told you that nonsense?

@gabemendoza1052 NK withdrew from the NPT in 2003 as a delayed reaction of losing nuclear powered Soviets as their protectorate and unfulfilled agreements with China. Obama was in office during the failed Six-Party peace talks. NK left the talks and began testing in 2009. Trump was the first president in history to enter North Korea while serving as POTUS and assisted in the NK-SK talks of creating a non-nuclear Korean Peninsula. NK wanted to continue testing of ballistic missile systems, right after the 2015 exchange of fire with SK. The US disagreed. NK walked away. We were never "dangerously close to nuclear war", that is fear mongering nonsense. The only country that maintains what is called "mutually assured destruction" with the USA is Russia.

@gabemendoza1052 The news is sensational, that's their job. There was never any 24 hour news network before Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It was then they realized how good war is for ratings. Just keep in mind, none of them, not even TIME or NatGeo are actual educational or news networks. They are entertainment networks and have zero obligation to report the unedited truth, or any truth for that matter.

Head over to Funker530 and see how well that's working out.

@markberryhill2715 A bit off. The majority of US force withdrew after the peace accords were signed in 1973. The last American combat troop left on March 29, 1974 as per the Paris Peace accords.
