Meteor Man.

@FinnMcCoolOfficial Frank Castle is neither super nor is he a hero 😅

@Wistbacka Yup, 1997, definitely before Blade. Most people still don't know that Steel is a Superman character. Meteor Man was 1993 ;)

@abrahamthebewildered1448 Superhero is defined by benevolence. Breaking faces for information is not benevolent. Punisher is a murderer.
4
@abrahamthebewildered1448 Superhero; a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman. No.
3
@randomDaved Still the best. MJW is a legit combat expert. 8 black belts.
3
@abrahamthebewildered1448 It's not "the definition you put forth". It's just the definition.
3
@abrahamthebewildered1448 Batman is a vigilante. When he's breaking faces he's also breaking the law.
2
@darthkek1953 Falcon has limited telepathic and empathic control over birds. Hawkeye was a villain... he works with Black Widow... In Marvel Comics, Black Widow actually has a litany of abilities bestowed upon her during the experiments in the Red Room. Black Widow is imbued with enhanced agility and acrobatic skills. Dr. Kurdin, estimated that Black Widow possesses the ability to regenerate at a rate five times faster than that of an average human.. But no, she's an assassin... c'mon. Red Skull, the bad guy with the super soldier serum? That Red Skull? xD

@mad4song01 It's Michael Jackson for black superhero, technically. But shhh.
2
@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 Fair enough xD
2
But it's Nick Cage. Did you complain when they cast Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury? Would you deny us his presence and majesty simply to satisfy your own preconception of racial equality?
1
@user-nj5cl6xs4n Neither was Deadpool, but that's not the only topic. It's first R rated AND first black superhero.
1
@user-nj5cl6xs4n Meteor Man wasn't R rated either.
1
Who is what? Frank Castle isn't superhuman. Even if he were a hero, he was never super.
1
Frank Castle is also a vigilante. ^
1
@CMCAdvanced Damn straight xD

The Director's Cut version of Spawn was released on DVD on January 9, 1998. Blade came out in August. Gonna go ahead and say that theatrical or DVD don't matter, a movie is a movie. @spacemanju7 @JonPFS @randomDaved @darthkek1953 are all right.
1
@randomDaved Yeah, and you all got it with Spawn. The Director's Cut version of Spawn was released on DVD on January 9, 1998. Blade came out in August.
1
You're out of context then. This is a discussion solely regarding R Rated SUPERheroes and black SUPERheroes. Try and keep up and stop talking to yourself.
1
@mad4song01 Blank Man was 1 year after Meteor Man.
1
@darthkek1953 Awesome haha. Red Skull, my hero! They definitely have heroic moments, but I think that Widow and Hawk are still running away to do dirty work behind the scenes. It's how we're introduced to her in the movies. lol, good stuff.
1
@cyborgchicken3502 Definitely. Good call. Even with the silly body suits for the monsters (i forget their name), what a great run of films.
1
@cyborgchicken3502 1994, Rated R. Definitely a superhero. Heck yeah. 💯
1
@mabusestestament Rated R, 1984, that checks out. I think you've taken the crown from Guyver.
1
@vithepiltoverenforcer8778 I believe Blank Man was 1994 and Meteor Man was 1993.
1
@Jeffro5564 Nobody stated Marvel or comic books. Mr. Marvel isn't rated R, learn to read. The topic is Rated R Superhero Movie OR Black Superhero Movie, or both in one. Go sit in the corner.
1
@daaichommie708 For rated R and black, it looks like Spawn was first and beats out Blade, yeah. The Spawn theater release wasn't rated R, but the rated R DVD version came out before Blade.
1
@heroineburgh Rated 13+, Meteor Man was 1993, but good call.
1
@heroineburgh My fault. Ahhh the classics. Yeah, great films.
1
@heroineburgh But, you know, not super.
1
@lostree1981 Toxic Avenger still takes it for R Rated Superhero. 1984.
