Kyiv has been the center of every Russian empire of the last 1200 years and was the gem of the Mongol's conquest. It was also the first place retaken by the first Russian Caesar/Czar/Tsar, Ivan the Terrible. The Donbass is what created the Rurik Dynasty. The Ukrainian people are the true Kyivian Rus'.

  4.  @wedgeantilles8575  R-360 Neptune is a Ukrainian subsonic cruise missile with all-weather capabilities developed by the Luch Design Bureau in Kyiv as an anti-ship missile, with a later variant for land attack. Neptune's design is based on the Soviet Kh-35 subsonic anti-ship missile, with substantially improved range, targeting and electronics equipment. Ukraine has as much right and claim to Soviet designs as any other member state of the Union, especially considering they designed most of it anyways.

  13.  @yellowtunes2756  So, a thought experiment. What has Kinzhal destroyed? We know what Neptune and Storm Shadow have destroyed. Hypersonic doesn't turn at speed, burns hot, easy to track. By the time it's M10, everything radar in the country knows where it is and it can't turn. Invariable speed, just constant increase. Avangard is just a new HGV re-entry vehicle for the Sarmat. The main defense for them has always been in the stages before the re-entry vehicle is released. HGV doesn't substantially increase the threat, it's not a game changer.

This has never changed. No treaty signed by NATO Allies and Russia ever included provisions that NATO cannot take on new members. Decisions on NATO membership are taken by consensus among all Allies.
