  3. ​ @electrictroy2010  That's not exactly true. Canada does have private healthcare AND it has the public healthcare which is paid for by taxes. It's not "free" healthcare. The government also subsidizes some of the costs. Tax revenue in Canada makes up nearly 40% of the GDP. Canadians on average are paying 31% of their gross income to tax, where in USA it's about 20%. Go by median salary, that difference comes out to $6,750 which is more than enough to pay for the best private healthcare available, twice over. In actuality, private healthcare in the USA costs less than "free" healthcare in Canada. "Free" healthcare works best in a welfare state.
