@RenardGarland It's completely legal to own a firearm in Chicago, including handguns. The laws are just a bit tighter.

Caught with filed down serial number on illegal firearm and fake ID. Fake ID led police to his apartment with explosives devices and supplies including dynamite and manufacturing plans for FALN members. His travel record put him in proximity of multiple bombings. Even after imprisonment, FBI intercepted further plans for violence including a jail-break with detailed plans to kill guards. The only reason Clinton offered to commute in 1999 was to get 1 million Puerto Rican votes secured for a Senate seat for Hillary but Oscar Lopez-Rivera refused to denounce the use of violence which was a main condition.
