Germany being the largest country/population has been extremely slow to react, (instead of being proactive like the UK) especially as Germany pulls the strings of Brussels. The whole EU system was set up to stop any future war in Europe but instead German Greed for cheap Russian energy moved more than a Billion Euros into Russia every day for decades. Which has funded Russia's war crimes in Ukraine and other countries. Germany/EU/Brussels only took a stand against Russia once the Nordstream pipelines were destroyed. We all know other EU member countries can't make a move until the EU allows it and Germany controls the EU/Brussels. Once you understand that other EU members do have very large gas reserves but Brussels/Germany doesn't allow those countries to access those gas reserves because Germany would lose it's grip of power over the EU, this bigger picture shows why these war crimes in Ukraine were allowed to happen and how Russia funded them. The sad thing is Trump of all people openly warned Germany/EU/Brussels about this very issue and the EU/Germany/Brussels laughed and ridiculed him (Trump). So attempting to defend the actions of Germany (or lack of) really doesn't sit well.
