I really LOVE Spain. I'm saying that before I make my next comment. I remember Spain (about 30 years ago) used to be in the top 4-5 richest/wealthiest countries in the world before Spain joined the Euro. I think it's very sad that Spain isn't even in the top 15 richest countries in the world now. The Spanish should be proud of their amazing country and history and people who live there. It seems the EU/Euro has been designed to filter wealth, power, industry and well paid jobs to Germany and Spanish businesses into German ownership. Unfortunately the open door policy to migration effects everything including lower paid jobs. The change over to the Euro decimated the Spanish economy overnight and it has never recovered since. Germany imports almost 1 Billion in cheap goods from China every single day of the year. Then Germany floods the EU with those cheap Chinese imports which has destroyed every industry in every town and city across the EU. Germany profits in both ways. Goods that compete with German manufactured goods are hit with tariffs which Germany collects and at the same time removing all the competition from else where in Europe. Obviously it's not just Spain that has been effected because countries like France and Italy etc who had many regional manufacturing specialities have been destroyed in the same way by the EU/Euro.

When the UK was still part of the EU we still had passport checks when we entered Spain. Nothing has really changed for UK travellers.

It's the British that spend money in bars and restaurants. I know owners that have pubs and food outlets and they make 2-3 times the profit from the British compared to how much money the average Germans/Dutch/Swedish holiday maker spends. At the end of the summer season, holiday makers from Poland and Russia etc go all inclusive and spend almost nothing for 1-2 weeks. (maybe they might buy one coffee and sit outside a café for hours)

Totally agree with you. It makes me wonder if it's Russian supporters making those comments?

It will be good to see masks removed in every country. I understand wearing masks on plane flights to a certain degree. Were paying £1.59 for a litre of diesel (that's 1.91 in Euro's). Diesel has cost more than petrol in the UK for a long time.

Was the fuel app called Gas All or Gas Org? I did play the video back but I couldn't quite make it out. Thanks in advance.

I really enjoy your grounded view about what is really happening in Spain. I can confirm they post Covid test kits out to you home for free and then collect them from your home in the UK. They also hand out boxes of 5 test kits for free in town/city centres and outside shopping centres. The boxes of 5 Covid test kits are the type that give you a result within 10 to 15 minutes at home. Even with recent price increases we can buy a box of 16 paracetamol or ibuprofen from every small shop and supermarket for 25-29 pence. (That's about 24-27 Cents in EU money) When I visit the EU I always bring my own paracetamol and similar products with me. We can buy Calpol which is paracetamol in liquid form for children from and small shop or supermarket. There is nothing worse than getting a headache at night, and all the pharmacies are closed when your on holiday in the EU.

Do you need the 2 vaccines and a booster to visit Spain?

@spanish_realms Thank you for the information. I wasn't sure if we needed the booster as well. I will check the British embassy website before we travel to Spain later in the year because everything can change so quickly these days.

@l.z. I've done a quick search online and it was GasAll app to compare fuel prices in Spain.

You can book online to get your tests picked up. You have to book online before you take the test. I actually phoned them up in the evening, to get my Covid tests picked up the next morning.
