The EU want to take AZ to court to cover up the EU's failures. The AZ vaccine is being produced for Zero Profit. While other Covid vaccine companies will make 15-20 Billion each. AZ is sold at production cost and manufactured around the world under license. Now this court case by the EU is the thanks AZ gets for trying to do the right thing???

@emanuelpetre5491 As it is well documented that AZ only signed a Best Effort contract with the EU. There was never a guaranteed time line or a guarantee of the volume of vaccines that would be supplied. The EU's independent legal team highlighted this before the EU signed the contract with AZ. They also pointed there was no legal basis that allowed the EU to take legal action against AZ if the vaccine numbers couldn't met on time. Twice the EU has raided AZ, proving the EU commission/Brussels act like a bunch of thugs. That is why many other vaccine companies refuse to sign supply contracts with the EU.

@emanuelpetre5491 The Contract was partially publish by accident by the EU, when they originally showed the redacted AZ contract. In the side headers the full version could be clearly read. Brussels pays to have most, if not all their legal contracts looked at by independent legal teams. They highlighted the issues i mentioned before the EU 27 signed the AZ contract. That legal advice was made public. I think the original information was published on the Politico website? (a few weeks ago) about the independent legal advice the EU received about the AZ contract.

@emanuelpetre5491 This horrible virus has effected everyone. I understand the EU's legal structure is over complicated, simply because it need every EU 27 member country to sign off on purchasing, which unfortunately slows that process down. I hope the virus gets under control very soon. For all of us. I'm English and i certainly dont wish any harm on anyone in Europe or anyone in the world. In the UK we seem to have finally got the virus under control (until the next variant of Covid pops up) What i find upsetting is AZ asked Brussels and the Netherland for 8 Million to increase vaccine production volumes production by 5 times in the Halix plant and they both refused. Eventually the UK stepped in with 20 Million for the Halix plant. That caused months of delays. The French vaccine company Valneva finally gave up asking for help from the EU and signed a contract in September to move their vaccine research and development and manufacturing to the UK. Because of the way AZ has been treated by the EU, Novavax has set up their whole vaccine manufacturing in the UK in December/January and has given up trying to deal with the EU. Saying it will do individual deals with each EU country. I'v had my first vaccine and in a 3 weeks time im due to have my second vaccine. I hope you stay safe and wish you all the best for the future.

@emanuelpetre5491 Yes you are correct assets were moved from the UK to the EU. In the same way assets were moved from the EU to the UK. 400 UK financial sector firms applied to open offices in the EU in the last 6 months of 2020. At the same time 1500 EU based financial sector firms applied to open offices in the UK for the first time. There were always going to be changes due to Brexit. Sadly there will be further divisions between the UK & EU in the next few years. Please Please remember the people of the UK still love the people of Europe. We just dislike the heavy handed tactics of the EU commission. The Brexit vote was almost a 50/50 split in the UK. I didn't vote to leave the EU. In regards to the AZ vaccine. The UK government invested heavily in the research and development of the AZ vaccine in the UK and in Europe and sent a letter of intent to purchase that vaccine in May 2020. In exchange for the early funding AZ gave the UK a guaranteed supply contract. It was the Oxford University and the UK government that teamed up with AZ to sell vaccines at cost price/zero profit for at least 6 months to help developing/poor countries around the world. When the EU placed it's first order with AZ the original order was for 40 Million vaccines. The EU has a population of 450 Million people. Then in December 2020 the EU placed an order for 300 Million vaccines with AZ and January 2021 the EU placed a third order with AZ. You have to admit the EU Commission was slow to act. Now the EU has cancelled all orders of the AZ vaccine after June 2021. I hope and pray the EU has the Pfizer vaccine production up to speed by the end of June for the sake of the people living inside the EU. I hope you remember the UK does not wish any harm on the people of Europe.
