The EU plans to help EU fishermen funds from the EU's 4.5 Billion Euro Brexit fund. That is State Aid. EU farmers get State Aid. EU industry gets EU STATE AID. So why should the EU demand that they control UK state aid policy?? The UK will be an Independent Country. The UK wont be under the control of the EU or the ECJ.

The UK public voted to take back control. Boris is just doing what the UK public asked for. UK waters. UK fish. UK state aid. UK laws. UK rules. UK trade regulations. For the UK people. Mrs May tried to sell the UK public off to EU financial slavery.

@Ralph Macchiato Its called WTO which is the same way most of the world does trade. Including future trade between the UK & EU and EU & UK. So what exactly are the EU able to protect? Yes the EU can put tarrifs on UK goods and the UK will mirror that by putting tarrifs on EU goods. That will make EU goods less cost effective which will mean the UK will buy from other countries instead. After all the dirty tricks the EU has pulled over the past few years, people in the UK have already reduced the number of German made vehicles they buy.

@jensberlin3438 Yes the UK & EU signed an agreement. That stated that the EU would negociate a free trade deal in GOOD FAITH. The EU has not done that, which voids parts the withdrawal agreement and the Irish Back Stop, unless there is a free trade agreement in place. It really isn't that hard to understand. No Deal = No Backstop.

Canada has a free trade deal. 43% of that EU trade with Canada is with the UK.

@Ralph Macchiato Until the end of 2020 the UK is still trading as part of the EU. The EU says it has over 100 trade deals but less that 30 of those trade deals are active. Im sure once Canada loses 43% of it's trade with the EU it will look to do a trade deal with the UK. The UK cannot sign any trade deals until January 1st 2021.

@Ralph Macchiato Do you understand that the UK spends 130 Billion more in the EU every year, than the EU buys from the UK. That gives the UK spending power to go else where and still trade with the EU on WTO.
