They were rolled out as safety camera vans. They were printed with police logos on but never controlled by a police officer. Which is why they won't identify themselves when confronted. How can those speed camera vans say the word Police on them but the operator isn't employed by the police?

@geordiewishart1546 That is semantics. The so called police camera vans aren't operated by police. The camera operators are not acting officers. I'm sure the tea lady and the cleaner at the police station are employed by the police force but they aren't going out and sticking parking tickets on vehicles. So my question still stands. Why are these people operating police vehicle? when they are clearly not police. !!!!! It's another scam (grey area)

@geordiewishart1546 I think your words like many statements made online by police officers are very misleading and wouldn't stand up. If a police vehicle on active service is being operated by a civilian (even if they are employed by the police) That is misleading the public. I.e Not truthful/factual/honest/misleading/deceitful = A BIG FAT LIE. Maybe that's why these camera vehicle are having the POLICE signage removed, to make them legal/lawful?

@taIlboyandy23 You know your talking nonsense. The moment the speed camera vans get obstructed they call the police in. If they were active members of the police force (police officers) they would have to identify themselves but they never do. They are civilians operating a van sign written with the word Police on the side. I understand the police are allowed to lie to gain evidence but they can't tell lies online. So be very careful.

@taIlboyandy23 What your really saying is the cleaner at the police station can man a speed camera van. Because the cleaner is employed by the police force.

@taIlboyandy23 Nope. That just another poor attempt at misleading the public (by you). None of the camera vans are operated by police officers. They are operated by civilians employed by the police. They have less authority then a parking attendant handing out parking ticket. At least parking attendants are trained and insured to interact with the public. OAP's with zero training can operate a laser speed gun. So who are you trying to fool??? I hope that clears things up for you. I'm sure you have a tattoo that says "Must try harder)
