What doesn't the EU understand about the UK being a Sovereign State that won't be controlled be the EU. That is why the British people voted to leave the EU in early 2016. Yet the EU carries on making bonkers demands to control the UK after January 1st 2021
1
@isacadc4552 That is very simple. Cap public sector wages. Charge tariffs on EU goods entering the UK. P's it's 200 Billion the UK wants to raise. How is the EU going to raise it's 1.8 Trillion recovery budget without lending it through UK banks and clearing houses???? That will tie the EU's population in debt for generation.
1
@isacadc4552 The UK's banks and clearing houses already hold the vast majority of the EU's individual national debts. The UK is the cheapest place in the world to raise the 1.8 Trillion the EU needs. The EU simply cant afford to raise the capital anywhere else. Which is why Brussels has extended the use of UK banks and clearing houses for a further 18 months after January 1st 2021.
1
NO UK Fisheries. NO level playing field. NO control over the UK after 2020. The UK WILL be Independent. WTO here we come.
1
@cyberkraut5139 The same applies to the EU. I dont see the UK in panic mode (in the same way the EU leaders are) What happens when the narrative from Brussels falls apart, more than it has already? The people of the UK don't dislike the people of Europe. We just dislike being controlled by the Unelected leaders in Brussels. The past 4 years of Constant threats from the EU have proved the UK public did the right thing in the 2016 Brexit vote. Yes there will be short term disruption but we have faced a lot worse due to the Covid Crisis. The UK only buys 26% of its fresh food from the EU and this time of year (winter) most fresh fruit, salad, veg is imported from outside the EU. By the time the spring comes, when the UK would normally start to import a lot of fresh food from the EU, alternative supplies will already be arranged from outside the EU (without a genuine UK-EU free trade agreement) It's worth mentioning the UK has vastly changed it's supply chain over the past 6 months as the EU has threatened to block shipping ports. So the impact will a lot smaller than it would have been.

Watch the remoaners put down the idea of a Genuine Free Trade Deal between Canada and the UK. First the Remoaners said the UK wouldn't be able to do trade deals on it's own. Then they said UK trade deals would take 10 years or more. Now every trade deal the UK signs wont be good enough for the remoaners. Even if the new trade deals are similar or better than the EU's trade deals. They will still carry on moaning. All this is being done without paying Billions every year into Brussels Slush Fund.
1
Well it didn't work out well for Greece.
1
@conor1077 Hmmm you think the EU will do better without Billions from the UK every year???
1
@conor1077 45 years of EU failures isn't a good track record. Unity is a pipe dream. Now Switzerland has walked away from the EU. Hungary and Poland have a foot out the door. There is more Anti EU feeling in Europe than ever before. What you call unity is actually a Dictatorship.
1
@conor1077 There have been many areas with civil unrest. You have a short memory. Have you forgotten about ongoing unrest in the Ukraine and what about the Millions that died in Yugoslavia because the EU refused to step in. I think you are wearing blinkers. The EU Commission has roughly 200 court cases ongoing at any given time against the EU27. Hardly harmony in the EU is it?
1
@conor1077 You cant cherry pick. You tried to imply the EU some how stopped a world war? Now the EU wants to form their own EU Army. So the new threat to Europe is the EU commission.
1
They are still bashing on about the Bonkers "level playing field" or "ECJ" in an attempt to control the UK in the future. Give it a rest. Offer a Genuine Free Trade Agreement or BOG OFF >>>>
1
EU/Brussels bureaucracy = Failure. They will cause many deaths because of their normal SLOW action. Now the whole world can see the EU/Brussels leadership is a Broken System that does not work for the people living in the EU.
1
You have got to admire this amazing lady.
1
@alfredttarski4521 LOL where have you been living over the past few weeks? It certainly isn't Earth if you believe your own comment. LOL Brussels Triggered Article 16.
1
@alfredttarski4521 If that was the case (its not) Why did Sinn Fein issue a statement against the EU's triggering of Article 16 ???
1
@wanderschlosser1857 So you agree the GFA set legal precedent and the WA cannot over ride any part of the GFA. So if the EU tries to use their interpretation of the WA to over ride any part of the GFA, the EU's argument attempting to use the WA is null and void.
1
@Armasnipe again your wrong. The UK records covid cases differently from the rest of Europe. If someone dies of cancer or a car accident or falls down the stairs and dies but they test positive for having Covid within 3 months of death, it's still recorded as a Covid death. Normally the UK see's 60-80 thousands deaths due to flu every year. In the past year the UK has recorded 36 deaths due to the flu. So it's clear the UK's figures are flawed. As for your comment about the UK's PM he has remained civil towards the UK and has issued zero threats towards the EU. It's not the British way to hurl insults and threats.
1
@joeletaxi7956 the EU commission has constantly moved the goal posts. This has been highly documented.
1
@Armasnipe Macron hurls insults and threats towards the UK on a weekly basis. If people react to those actions, especially when the French leadership's comments are not justified, you can't blame them. The people of the UK didn't fall out of love with the French people or the rest of Europe. We just decided we didn't agree with the EU commission/leadership making our rules and regulations and laws.
1
@Armasnipe why waste my time with a stupid question like that?
1
Self inflicted challenges due to Brussels failure to act in a prompt manner. Where is the transparency? Why did Brussels block EU counties ordering the vaccines and Why did the EU take 3 months longer to place orders? The whole world is watching.
1
Too little too late. AGAIN.
1
Self inflicted challenges due to Brussels failure to act in a prompt manner. Where is the transparency? Why did Brussels block EU counties ordering the vaccines and Why did the EU take 3 months longer to place orders? The whole world is watching.
1
@SoundTourist Article 16 ring any bells? The UK placed orders for the bulk of their vaccine requirements from AZ in May 2020. The EU placed their first order for 30 Million AZ vaccine in June. Then placed orders for 300 Million vaccines in December 2020 and a further order in early January with AZ. Why do people believe the foolish lies from Brussels, when they have already been proven wrong????? .
1
@SoundTourist WOW your deluded. The EU gave nothing. Vaccine exports were done by the vaccine companies who are based in the EU. The EU did NOTHING. To say anything differently makes you look Foolish.
1
@SoundTourist The EU exported Zero vaccines. Vaccine companies exported vaccines to for fill their contracts. The EU has never had any vaccines to export. The EU has done everything in its power to ban vaccine exports to cover up their vaccine purchasing mess. The whole world knows it. If your foolish enough to believe Brussels fake propaganda? Brussels messed up and that will effect you directly, so why are you attempting to defend the EU Commission? The EU27 will require Covid vaccines year after year to deal with new Covid strains and all the vaccine companies view the EU as a hostile customer. So the EU will be at the back of the queue. Some vaccine companies are already refusing to sign supply contracts with the EU. Novavax is now manufacturing vaccines in the UK and refusing/stalling with the EU's contract.
1
German greed created this. The EU has plenty of gas reserves. Those gas reserves are not in Germany. Those EU gas reserves would have taken power away from Germany so the EU stopped fracking in the EU and continued buying and relying on Russian gas. With the billions Russia made every month from sales to the EU and the EU's reliance on Russian gas, Russia went to war in Ukraine. Trump warned the EU about this years ago but the EU controlled by Germany ignored Trump. So the EU funded the war crimes taking place in Europe directly.
1
@eLeft6 Oh yes we fully understand. We have seen the EU's constant threats and dirty tricks over the past 4 years. We refuse to be controlled by the unelected in Brussels. What you fail to understand is the UK makes up 20% of the EU's trade. Even the EU admits that when the UK leaves the EU and stops funding the EU's budget in January 2021 it will be the financial equivalent of at least 20 of the EU 27 leaving the block overnight. All those countries that have been taking more out of the EU's budget than they have paid in, will become Net contributors next year. The UK already has 57-58 NEW trade deals agreed around the world (within the last 2 years) without paying a single penny/cent to Brussels. Yes many of them are a basic copy and paste of the deals the UK had while it was paying into the EU. Yes the EU tried to apply pressure to stop the UK doing those trade deals. So ask yourself WHY is your country paying Billions into Brussels slush fund? When you could easily copy those trade deals and pay nothing to Brussels and do your own trade deals that suit your own country without EU restrictions. Please dont try and tell me the EU is a power house, when the combined EU's 27 countries Net exports are only 33 Billion a year. The UK spends 43 Billion on German built cars every year.
1
@bertrandmarion1927 We have no interest in being part of the Single Market. We asked from a Canada style deal. Otherwise it's NO DEAL & WTO.
1
@bertrandmarion1927 Yes and the EU wants access to the UK. We will still not be controlled by the Level Playing Field or the ECJ. The UK will be an independent country that wont be controlled by the EU from next year.
1
@NoName-hg6cc As per usual your totally WRONG. The UK now has 58 NEW trade deals. Without paying a single penny into Brussels slush fund. The UK completed the Singapore trade deal and signed the Canada trade deal today. In the next few days the Vietnam trade deal should be ready as well.
1
@NoName-hg6cc No your WRONG AGAIN.. Here is the list of the UK's 58 NEW trade deals. .https://www.gov.uk/guidance/uk-trade-agreements-with-non-eu-countries#trade-agreements-from-1-january-2021
1
@shinigamirikko3507 WOW you really are deluded. The EU offered a Canada type deal while the WA was being negotiated and then withdrew the offer. Now the EU is in a mess and your failed attempt to defend the EU leaders is laughable. Yes a Genuine Free Trade Agreement negotiated in good faith would work for both sides. No country in the world would agree to the EU's bonkers demands. LOL The EU moves the goal posts on a weekly basis.
1
@shinigamirikko3507 Do you understand the UK has a trade deal agreed with Canada??? The UK has agreed NEW trade deals with 57 countries in less than 2 years. Worth 200 Billion. Plus there are many more trade deals to follow next year. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/uk-trade-agreements-with-non-eu-countries#trade-agreements-from-1-january-2021
1
@azounx Sorry your wrong. It is a well know FACT that the EU blocked a group of EU countries ordering the vaccines. Brussels told them it had to be done by Brussels.
1
Self inflicted challenges due to Brussels failure to act in a prompt manner. Where is the transparency? Why did Brussels block EU counties ordering the vaccines and Why did the EU take 3 months longer to place orders? The whole world is watching.
1
@taniaarthur The same way the UK funded AstraZeneca and many other vaccine companies which are just about to put their vaccination into production. While the EU/Brussels leadership from the information that they have released didn't put money into vaccine manufacturing. Brussels just placed an order once they knew there was a vaccine ready to purchase. At least 3 months after the UK had invested heavily into vaccine testing with many companies. With all the purchasing power the EU leadership says they have, WHY didn't they do anything sooner? Why did Brussels ban individual EU countries placing orders on their own? Now thousands of lives will be lost due to Brussels pointless bureaucracy. Those unknown unelected and unaccountable people running the whole of the EU behind a smoke screen. Will any of those unelected bureaucrats take responsibility for their complete failure to act? Will they face criminal action for the deaths they caused across the EU? The EU is being run as a dictatorship with the illusion that MEP's really have a way of making a difference.
1
@Jo Sm I have a lot of friends and family that live in the EU and i do hope everyone across the EU and the whole of Europe is provided for. I just cant see it being done in a timely manner when there is so much global demand for vaccines and the EU was so slow to react. The same happened when the EU took far to long to buy PPE and ventilators. I dont want to see people in the EU suffering.
1
@mijicmugendo Brexit is working for the UK. Where is the lie in that? I see you back to being a TROL and calling everyone a Liar, over and over again. How is the EU treating your home country Ireland ? I see they were just about to put up a hard border!!! How are you going to defend that action as a hardcore Irishman?
1
@mijicmugendo Yep things are going Great for the UK. Were just about to sign up to the CPTPP. Plus the UK has NEW trade deals with 63 countries Plus the UK-EU trade deal 27 countries. What has your country done lately?
1
Novax has signed a vaccine supply contract with the UK for 60 million vaccines but has not signed a supply contract with the EU. This is what happens when you threaten and blackmail vaccine companies and block vaccine exports to the world.
1
Brussels is now classed as a hostile customer. No vaccine company wants to deal with the EU now, unless the EU pays more for vaccines. Moderna signed a supply contract with the UK first.. Novavax signed a vaccine supply contact with the UK weeks ago to manufacture their vaccine in the UK. Novavax has not done a deal with the EU. Covid is going to come back year after year with new strains/variants and no vaccine company will do a deal with the EU in the future. The French vaccine company Valneva has moved to the UK and they are building their vaccine factory in the UK. The UK funded the expansion of the Halix factory so it can expand production to 5 times the volume. What has the EU actually done? Well they have certainly upset half the world by stopping/restricting/banning legitimate vaccine exports. The EU even stopped countries like Germany ordering their own vaccines.
1
Self inflicted challenges due to Brussels failure to act in a prompt manner. Where is the transparency? Why did Brussels block EU counties ordering the vaccines and Why did the EU take 3 months longer to place orders? The whole world is watching.

1
Yes Covax received more money from the UK (UK is funding Covax with 500 Million) which is far more than the whole of the EU27 combined.
1
@Spartacus Really? The EU have said many times, that the UK public didn't know what they were voting for?!?! The list of EU threats is endless. Blockading ports. Stopping UK trucks entering the EU. Stopping UK plans/flights entering EU airspace. The EU threatened the Good Friday Agreement/Peace process in Ireland. The EU threatened the free movement of goods inside the UK. I can go on and on if you really want. The EU's constant threats and insults towards the UK have been hurled at the UK on an almost daily basis.
1
@isacadc4552 Do you understand the UK owns part of the ECB? The ECB was partially funded by the UK when it was first formed. All debts have to be repaid eventually. Those bonds are loans. All loans have to be repaid with interest. There is no magic money tree. Money paid out has to be repaid.
1
@isacadc4552 The UK part funded the ECB when it was first formed. Look it up.
1
@isacadc4552 You clearly didn't look at which countries set up (funded) the ECB.
