  1. That is standard practise (in both directions) for UK & EU the energy sector to share energy supplies in case there is a shortage or fault. It happens every day. Peak times in the UK it's cheaper to buy french electric and Vis Versa, that France buys electric from the UK when it's their peak times. The UK gas fields filled the German underground gas storage facilities all summer and they sell it back to the UK in the winter and the UK pays a premium price to buy back our own gas. All set up under EU rules and regulations decades ago and agreed by the Labour party when they were in power. Also removing the UK's own gas storage facilities.
