In Britain we did about 2 months on world war 2 and most of that was tedious crap about pearl harbour.

@ninototo1 oh actually i remember now we actually did do the whole rise of the nazis, but very little actual war as I say. We did the holocaust in religious education as well

@kathrynstewart-mcdonald his previous book 1914 is good but the rest I wouldnt bother with to be honest. Find darkness at noon is my advice, it's by far the best anti stalinist book, and dr zhivago or life snd fate the best banned soviet books. @richardarriaga6271 did nothing in north Africa and britain and commonwealth troops won (by far) the biggest land victory against the japanese. Britain also contributed about 30% to soviet supplies. The soviets by far made the biggest contribution and out built the US

@azovandy14.88 yes the whole story of french collaboration with fascism has never really been told. At Dunkirk they took 50% french troops over to britain meaning lots of british were left behind. These 150,000 french troops then all (except a few hundred) went straight back to germany, surrendered and became vichy soldiers. They also refuses to sail their massive fleet to an allied port when the germans were quickly approaching it, potentially more than doubling the size of the nazis navy. When the royal navy sank all the fleet in response the french called it a war crime
