  5.  @wilkesjournal  The problem is there are very few buyers. I would never replace a 50 year old part with another 50 year old part unless it was something like trim in new shape. Some of those EBay guys are just looking for a sucker. Bought 4 new hubcaps for $50, some wanted $500 each. Some want $2500 for mirrors. Its crazy stupid. There are very few 6 figure Cadillacs, mostly from the 50s.

  6.  @jeffrobodine8579  There is a nationwide data base of stollen cars. Not sure if all 50 states enrolled. KS. is in it and they are last in everything. That is what is being checked. The local procedure for lost title requires advertising in a local media for a certain period of time and filling out the state paper work. Its really no big deal but time consuming. The advert gives someone else opportunity to challenge the claim. You can build a car or boat and have it titled as home made.
