  1. Your series on the Pearl Harbor salvage is the best. I had read the official Navy summation of the salvage decades ago and it was quite informative. Supposedly the birthplace of Navy hard hat diving. And you knew what they found when they went into the ships months later. Hard to stomach.

  4. When you first announced your tour schedule like two years ago I asked if you had ever been on a big ship as it appeared to me you did not know how long it would take to tour one. Was I right? Still think you should have seen the British liner at Long Beach because, well, its British and even bigger than the battleships. I took the self guided tour and litterally ran through it and it took like 2 hours. It has part of the hull cut away so you can see a propeller. The turbines were slowly rotating to prevent flattening of the bearings. Then I saw the Spruce Goose.

One hoist failure led to death. No responsibility assigned to the company. It is a lead, copper silver mine and is privately owned by a "Nature conservatory". Some expect it to be dozed. It had a 9000 foot Tramway to Jackrabbit, a long narrow guage railroad, about 40 miles of high voltage transmission line and was eventually connected to the grid which was far cheaper than gas/diesel generators. It is said to be full of ore but they could not pump out water fast enough and that led to its closure around 1950. There were a few contractors in 1960.

They are apparently running gold mines in Cripple Creek. The last time I was at Sneffels there was an operating gold mine. Adventures with Christian works at a huge mine and town by Mercury NV.
