  2. To be fair, it was the Germans job to make the bombing imprecise. Flying straight and level for the last few minutes brought all the 88's on them.

  4. I would like to point out that at the time of the first American bombing attack the Army Air Corps still believed precise bombing was possible with the Norton Bomb Sight. (And it was, sort of...) Later all bets were off and they were up straight bombing cities. It got very ugly by late 44 and into 45. I read a rewrite of Dante's Inferno and they had the RAF and USAAC leaders in a deep circle of Hell. It seemed right.
