Everything Peter has said here was conventional wisdom a decade ago. (seems he left off Craigs List taking all the ad revenue from local papers which was a strong revenue stream for them) He doesn't cover when, why, and how news was bad and unreliable before then with a few national choke points for large stories. After a certain age everyone will have seen several major stories they know are completely wrong and seen the reaction to them. That's what you need to cover, not "fact checkers".
