Very valid point! The architectural landscape is also changing...

I just came back from a trip to Japan and tried to always carry cash since everyone says that... Almost every place took cards. The only two places I can recall that didn't, were the machines for recharging IC cards, and a dive bar. The machine at the airport that I got the IC card from accepted credit/debit cards, but other recharge machines only accepted cash.

Awesome advices as always!!! I just want to add a personal tip about packing... With current pricing in Japan you will be tempted to shop a lot (including for clothing)! Because of the humid climate, you will need at least a couple of outfit changes per day, but you can buy a lot of those there. Make sure you try them on first because sizing may be different from your country. Uniqlo size S in the US is size M in Japan for example.

Love it!!! Beautiful storytelling format! The angles and editing really take us there!

I can't agree more! You summed it up perfectly! A first trip to Japan should be unforgettable!!!

I think Japanese are too polite to put you in this kind of situation... 😆

It's slightly hard to get in this mode right away, because talking like this to someone in America can be considered offensive. Initially I talked in more complex sentences, then switching to simple English depending on the response. At some point I came up with a mode where I make up the sentence to be simple, but even in the situation that the person speaks good English, not to sound too awkward (for them to assume that I assume they don't speak good English). 😅

You're breaking so many stereotypes! I like this logical thinking!!! I'm glad I avoided (many of) the mentioned.

I think I opened the taxi door from inside 1 time... I hope that didn't break it. I want to add to the not stacking too many sightseeing in one day... Browse Google Maps, especially what's close to your hotel. You'll be surprised how many interesting museums, temples, and restaurants they are, that are not major tourist destinations. You'll avoid crowds and have an authentic experience, surrounded by locals.
