But, that's only for pogs. Infantry OSUT is 22 weeks. And yes, my panties DID shrink in the wash. But, they're STILL bigger than yours.

The difference between basic, and boot (especially infantry OSUT), is that in boot, the drills scream at you while running around flailing their arms like scalded apes, and smoke you....While in basic, the drills can go anywhere from yelling to screaming at you, but will smoke you until you consider death a good alternative.

  29. Only pog basic is 10 weeks. Infantry (which is what counts) basic is 22 weeks. Has been since 2018. Also, infantry basic (OSUT) before the 22-week version, has always been 14-16 weeks. So marine boot has never been longer than army infantry OSUT. For some reason, marines seem to think that support soldiers are the same as combat arms soldiers. Nope! The more you know.....

Documentaries, for recruiting purposes, are ALWAYS watered down. I know...I was there! What you see in those Marine videos, is exactly what those 'blue discs' give you, when there aren't any cameras rolling.

  43. The only thing marine boot has over army basic, is that their drills run around screaming like banshees, trying to intimidate the recruits. Meanwhile, the quiet drill sergeants will absolutely destroy your very soul, so that even your yet-to-be-born will have nightmares.
