  2.  @yusdesoto3975  That's cute. But basic is just that....BASIC. You're learning basic $hit. Every soldier knows, especially combat arms, that the REAL training begins when you get to your PDS. Also, you can't be a 'kid' to be an 18 series. Also, if you wanna go Ranger right out of OSUT, you will have to go through the tab course, then jump school, then the selection process. You WILL be challenged. So, even if you are a 'scrawny kid', I'm pretty sure you won't be, once you've gone through the aforementioned courses. Trust me, you don't just get in. Either way, you're making it seem as though basic is the be all, end all, like the Marines do. It's NOT! Even leg units can be (and usually are) FULL of killers. Ask me how I know. "All the tough guys are already out or are getting ready to leave the army." ALL? Please tell me how you know this to be a fact. I'll wait....

  6. 3:20 - 3:35 Absolutely untrue! When I was in OSUT, and my DS was screaming bloody murder in my face, I did NOT go into 'defense mode'! That's complete garbage! My first thought was, "this dude is big, mean, and not to be fkt with! I'm going to do my damndest not piss him off again, and get my $hit together, before they find me face down in the Chattahoochee! We really have to do something about this new age, where men are soft as a bag of wet fresh cat scat! We simply can't afford to be this way. I know other nations are seeing this, and it sucks! -_-

  7. Stop your bellyaching, kid. You have no idea what you're talking about. Every army grunt knows that the REAL hardcore training begins when you get to your PDS. Basic is just that.....Basic. That said, infantry drills are still very much in your face. They're playing nice, because this is scripted, and they're being told what to say, and what to do. But, the very instant those cameras stop rolling, it's hell on earth. (Ask me how I know) Despite what this silly video is showing, the United States Army is STILL the most powerful army on terra firma. Say what you will, but I bet you'd rather be anywhere else on the planet, than the enemy downrange.

  10.  @yusdesoto3975  If you think, for one millisecond, that kill hats can even remotely simulate the stress of real war, I have some beautiful tropical beachfront property to sell you in Des Moines. Again, the REAL training begins once you get to your PDS. However, the training in OSUT is awesome, despite the powers wanting to eliminate screaming/name calling.  There were no kill hats during WW2. And look how the US kicked ass in that war. Drills screaming bloody murder is relatively new. I, personally think it has its place. I experienced it. I like it. But, at the risk of being redundant, it is not the be all, end all. You can STILL be a killer without kill hats all in your face.

  13. You do realize that no branch is better than the next, right? You do realize that all four branches are on the same team, right? You guys are up here crying about basic training, like it's the be all/end all of your entire military career. Ask any combat arms personnel about what happens when they get to their PDS. You know, AFTER basic. Ask about the training therein, and how it compared to 'basic' training. You people are hilarious.
