I do think economic crisis and societal collapse are necessary, I studied Econ in Brazil and that country faces a lot of collapse crises and lost decades, always someone, even the left invents a better system because the situation gets unsustainable. You need that, you cannot have infinite growth, also I disagree with the degrow and deindustrialized narrative, the crisis is the best opportunity to reform and make a better system or to start over from scratch, I saw this reading the history of Chile too without a Marxist wannabe dictator causing a huge economic crisis in Chile in the 1970s you would not have Pinochet and Chile would be a poorer country.
