  1. I agree about Brazil, the demographic is bad, and the Infrastructure too, but I think the Philipines will do well, they have a growing population, an English-speaking population, and they aren't a big country. And they do well with the US.

Yeah the Mexican and Canadian are important, but I do believe South East Asia can play a role, maybe the biggest blunder is the US leaving TPP, trans Pacific partnership, countries like Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia could replace some things the Chinese does. Also stoping negotiations with the Trans Atlantic Treaty was dumb too. Yes Europe has problems but the US entering Europe will keep Chinese influence out, another dumb thing is not investing in Green technology, I not a radical environmentalist, but green technology can play a role in reindustrialization and making more efficient use of fossil fuels, the Trump presidency a mess and a failure.

I a from southern Brazil, I had a professor that was a wheat farmer in the Pampas region of Rio Grande do Sul, land and climate very similar to Argentina and Uruguay, Brazil imports most of is wheat from Argentina. My dad studied Agricultural science in UFPR (Universidade Ferderal do Paraná) and the US, he said that Embrapa, he know people who work there, want to plant wheat in Ceará, Northeastern Brasil. If wheat is viable there, I think it will be a game changer for one of the poorest region in Brazil, the Sertão Nordestino, the northeastern semi-arid, I know soy plantation made a very poor region into a richest in Brazil, just as prosperous as the south and in the 1950 the cerrado (Brazilian savanna) was as poor as the northeast. The cerrado , Mato Gross, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Tocantins and in some region of western Maranhão, Bahia and Piauí, there was a saying in the 1950s, "Land in the cerrado not given nor inherited" , now the cerrado is the most productive region in soy and beef. Wheat is a good crop for dryer regions.   13. George Herbert Walker Bush was the last good republican president. Trump is the worst president in my life time. I think we will face an economic crisis with a magnitude of 2008 because of Trump. Obama was bad, but at least he did not try to end US democracy, so as George W. Bush, he was bad but did not try to end US democracy, Bill Clinton was quite good. at least he adopted good and sound economic principle.

Argentina should be the richest country in Latin America, they wouldn't be at the same level as the United States, or Germany, they were richer than Germany in the 1920s, but they at least should have the same GDP per capita as Spain or maybe even Italy. They should have the same standard of living as you see in southern Europe, I believe three things screwed Argentina badly, first was a great depression, Argentina was dependent on selling agricultural commodities and the price of that goods plummeted in the 1930s; second was that Europe stopped buying Argentinean agricultural goods and bought American agricultural goods instead after WWII and because of the Marshall plan; and the final nail in the coffin was Peronism.
