  97.  @SiliconCurtain  Yeah actually after typing my main comment I suddenly remembered, that Konstantin from INSIDE RUSSIA - another very interesting guest of your podcasts here on your channel and also a YouTuber I'm watching almost daily - has pointed out on several occasions and repeatedly in different contexts, that both the Russian leadership won't let such information through by simply blocking it and also, that the Russian audience itself isn't really that interested in investigating and learning the truth neighter. IF Russians truly wanted to know, how things are really going in other countries - not only in Europe but pretty much in every single country worldwide they're personally interested in for whatever reasons - they could simply just watch several YouTube channels about it, on top of this they can personally communicate with locals from said country/continent online (on any other apps they're having access to besides YouTube), but usually that doesn't happen on a large scale; so it appears the vast majority of average Russians actually prefer to stay in their isolated mindsets and Putin propaganda bubble willingly. But you're right, there're ALREADY attempts of Putin's regime to block even certain YouTube channels videos from getting through to Russia and Belarus ... YouTuber Mercado Media has been talking about his problems with Russian copyright claims quite a bit lately, maybe you'd want to interview him as well? Details about this type of (attempted*) new Russian censorship targeting American & other international YouTubers, of course also including Ukrainian ones, would be really interesting to learn ... Andrew from Mercado Media only said, Russia's making copyright claims for all types of songs, texts and other content (specifically short clips taken from Russian tv), which have "Russian names and/or words" in them, regardless if the authors/content creators are TRULY Russian citizens, or their names are just being typed in Cyrillic letters, etc. And/or you might want to talk to Andrew in private, especially if you're experiencing similar issues here on your channel, which quite frankly might be a bit mysterious at the beginning, bc the way I understood it, Russia's complaining about copyright issues to YouTube and in turn YouTube's making Andrew some troubles, he then has to sort this all out with YouTube, which tbh can also be a bit frightening for full-time YouTubers, when they're suddenly getting threatened that they'll get or are in fact demonetized cause of copyright claims; (if I got all of that correctly as I'm not a native English speaker and I'm also no YouTuber ... so I'm very sorry if that's not been the most exact description of this phenomenon). * "Attempted", bc usually it's "fair use" and YouTube then accepts the video or stream after reviewing the copyright issue. I'll also have to explain this to several other YouTubers btw, bc they're also been fighting with "unexplainable copyright issues" recently, especially when wanting to show/debunk propaganda from Russian tv ... although they're clearly stating, that showing those clips is for educational purposes ONLY and certainly NO attempt of sharing Russian propaganda at all. PS. Sorry YouTube's been a bit behind with showing me your reply, so while I was typing the rest of my "novel in chapters" here, I couldn't see your reply yet ... so my first replies after yours, that aren't addressed to you are just me continuing my train of thoughts.

  100. @LisaNH934  (Me ~5 days ago and already feeling I'm late). Hi Lisa, 💛💙🤗💙💛 I'm sooo happy to see you again! Sorry for being a bit late with replying - I'm not sure if it's "just me", or if my gut feeling's correct, that our "beloved" ru trolls are so overly-active atm, that I'm pretty much getting overwhelmed with countering their bs claims I can detect, which results in me having to do more Google-research than usual, which is time consuming and I fall far behind quite easily. Research is crucial and necessary though, bc despite "smelling" them and their pro-russian bs, I'm far from knowing everything and I don't wanna reply only with: "those are ALL russian propaganda lies you're telling me here" + a list of the most popular ru narratives ... bc I know, I can't convince the trolls, but my goal is to bring the people, who're reading along to their senses by arguing better than the troll (if possible, although it's a never ending learning process). It's also a huge relief to hear in this video here, that even experts, foreign policy professionals and world leaders/politicians fall victim to russian propaganda, at least I won't feel too stupid when it happens to me again, bc I certainly remember feeling confused like Jonathan's guest after accidentally watching ru propaganda ... til I shook my head and reminded myself that this is exactly what their propaganda's aiming at. I guess it's the algorithm throwing everything Ukraine related at me, even clearly pro-russian stuff and I block them, but I'm keeping an eye on Prof Gerdes analysing them, bc it's fascinating to see how the other side's reacting to world news and how they try to spin everything to their own advantage. But I think it's not "just me", bc I'm getting more troll replies than usual, as I've just noticed after counting those from the past few days ... and I agree, it's indeed easy to spot their latest talking points and narratives, bc besides getting their replies I also read lots of their comments and I feel the main problem is, they're constantly adapting and coming up with new bs and lies. Like e.g. they're (likely instigating, fuelling and) using the middle East's struggles to distract us all from Ukraine. But the silver lining is, that this could be a huge sign of their own desperation and the upcoming end of russia as we know it atm, bc at least two or more people predicted highly increased troll activities shortly before all falls apart over there in ru - not sure, if it's been Vlad Vexler, K from "inside russia", Mercado Media, Starsky, Rick, Jonathan from this channel here, Geogijs from Ukraine Matters and/or Jake Broe saying this, mainly bc they've ALL noticed and explained troll activity patterns in their streams and videos at some point - the worse russia's in crisis, the more troll activity til they can't afford to pay them for their propaganda efforts anymore. Sending you both big hugs and hopefully 2024 will be the year this war ends with Ukrainian victory, (although I'm currently impatiently waiting for the "United West" to start moving again). & Of course I hope, that it's the year of healing for J. and you! 🤗💙💕💛🐾🇺🇦🐾💛💕💙🤗

  108. I've read on the "Inside Russia" channel in Konstantin's comments early on about Zack's ill friend getting conscripted and I've been wondering ever since, if he's gotten conscripted, exactly BECAUSE he's writing Zack's "Russia tomorrow" Telegram channel. There're "rumours" of some Telegram servers having been installed inside of russia not too long ago - but I've no clue, how they would've done this and especially how they'd have connected said servers to the real already existing Telegram app, so it's VERY questionable if there's any truth to these rumours at all - if they're true though, maybe that's how Zack's friend got found out and specifically targeted; (just my personal suspicions and gut feeling). Although these might just be rumours without any truth to them, they could also serve another totally different purpose, which is to undermine the average russians trust in the Telegram app ... as far as I'm aware millions of russians have Telegram accounts, so it angers and worries the russian leadership, that they can't control war related information shared on Telegram. So destroying the trust into this app could be, how they're fighting against the lack of power they're having over it. PS. I wanna underline, these are indeed ONLY rumours without any proof and I feel really bad sharing them - especially if this helps the russian leadership - at the same time I'd feel bad not warning people that these rumours exist. I'm in some kinda pickl here and really torn ... so PLEASE feel free to remove this comment here, if you feel it's counterproductive, Jonathan! You know more about this stuff than I do and of course I won't be angry.

  117. Yeah I also believe, that the willingness of Russians to sacrifice the own, or their closest relatives lives to save Putin's "sorry S" has decreased significantly over the past ~16 months since he'd started HIS invasion, BUT even more so during the past ~3 days or so*! The entire behaviour of the Rostov on Don population proved/kinda still proves this! I've heard long time ago, Putin has a habit to re-watch such public uprisings and protests repeatedly, bc he's obsessed with finding the mistakes, that were made and "led to this uprising to begin with", so he basically analyses that footage, till he feels he's figured it all out - normally it's footage from other countries, some of these nations are/were somewhat close to Russia politically/ideologically/financially (trade-wise) - and I bet, he'll watch his private "Prigozhin's protest" tv- footage extremely often ... and I'm genuinely worried about the fate of the Rostov crowd's individuals. Especially those, who brought the Wagnerites groceries/viands, danced, hugged, drank, sang with and cheered for them, etc ... and bc loyalty's highly impotent to him, I'm certain he'll NEVER forgive the citizens of Rostov on Don for this "betrayal"! & Btw, they didn't cheer for "Prigozhin the war criminal/convict/brutal guy", no they were excited about the possible change in the Russian power structure as rooted for Prigozhin bc he symbolizes it! * & Btw, isn't it ironic, Putin managed to lose so much support and loyalty throughout only ~3 DAYS?!^^

  120.  @Aussie-Mocha  YEAH amazing, what a wonderful post! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for taking the time to mentioning this very important issue, bc I was already wondering, if that's just a problem on my end - mainly, bc nobody else had bothered so far, to even ask about the missing ~7 dark minutes and I already got a bit desperate and relatively confused about this, thinking my own phone sucks so much that it's getting worse and worse every day. Interestingly and thankfully though, it had turned out that ALL other problems I've had experienced during the past few weeks and months - like e.g. YouTube notifications NOT working properly, (such as getting notified AFTER the streams had already ended) and YouTube unsubscribing me from 2 pro-Ukrainian channels, even TWICE IN ONLY 1 MONTH from @Rick The Ukrainian, were all problems others have had in pretty much the same time period as well - so I'm a bit less worried now... BUT I STILL THINK, that it's highly suspicious! Bc tbh, YouTube's never unsubbed me from any "neutral content" like cute cat videos beforein my whole 10+ years on YouTube I've never been unsubbed from anything before, LET ALONE TWICE DURING 1 MONTH AND FROM THE SAME CHANNEL! Now my main problem is, that I can't NOT tell this to my Ukrainian online friends, bc I feel they've already enough negativity on their plates due to this whole horrifically stupid Russian invasion on their home-country, but I also HAVE TO ALERT THEM ABOUT THIS ON-GOING CRAP, bc when I look at the numbers of their subscribers/views/comments/etc, they're all going slowly down and initially - BEFORE all of this unexpected YouTube unsubbing had happened to me personally and specifically in such a short amount of time, I had only thought that people's living costs had likely gone up and they couldn't afford supporting the Ukrainian channels anymore ... however imo there's a huge difference between: 1*) no longer being able to support certain creators Patreon, YouTube channel membership, (etc) and 2*) unsubscribing, no longer being notified by YouTube and most importantly: no longer leaving at the very least some uplifting comments for them in their channels comment sections for them, ESPECIALLY when they need it the most like right now! (Like e.g. I occasionally also struggle a bit to make ends meet, but my pro-Ukrainian mindset didn't change in the slightest! & I still very much want to encourage my favourite pro-Ukrainian, but mainly my beloved Ukrainian YouTubers - like Starsky, his 2nd press officer Maxim, his brother and his buddy Pasha from @The Flashback, volunteers like e.g. Brandon Mitchell and many others
