  1. The oil embargo AND the US raising interest rates which has hammered the price of Russian oil to less than $50 per barrel. This is hurting Russia badly and forcing them to sell oil at bargain- basement prices! Eventually the bow will break and running to China will not be a solution because Russia is already selling resources to China at fire-sale prices
