@alazar8888 The Biblia Hebraica Quinta is the newest updated version but isn’t fully complete and is going on 30 years. There isn’t nearly as much funding for the OT criticism compared to the NT. There’s been numerous projects like the Biblia Hebraica but all have fizzled out, the OT is longer, and in more languages (Hebrew, Syriac, Greek, Latin, Coptic and many more) and requires a lot more funding than the NT.
The Masoretic codices were made late because we were more concerned about our survival than making an organized text. It was only when rich Jews realized there was differing Hebrew manuscripts circulating they decided to try making an organized text. And only 3 complete Masoretic codices remain (Leningrad, Sassoon, Aleppo) although some pages are missing.
Honestly it’s a mess. There’s also critical editions of the Hebrew Bible for the Septuagint, Latin & Syriac that only focus on each specific language but you can’t combine all of them, it’s just way to much variants, too long, and little funding. The BHQ takes ALL the Hebrew variants but not all the Septuagint, Latin or Syriac variants, they each have their own versions.
