  24.  @DownPro1  I believe doctors in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have to fund their own education and training without the state support which British medical students rely on. All the numerous places at British medical schools are oversubscribed 7 to 1. NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but provide one of the worst services in Europe. French doctors are paid a fraction of their NHS counterparts but provide a far superior quality of care. It was reported that Singaporean trained doctors working in the UK were aghast at the lack of medical knowledge and poor understanding evident in the new breed of poorly educated, badly trained British junior doctors.

  25.  @DownPro1  You may pay a small proportion of the tuition fees for a 5 year (not 6 year) degree but taxpayers pay the lion’s share (I believe it costs between £500k and £650k to train a doctor).
