@orchidhealth2097 A first year medical graduate apprentice on a basic hourly rate of £14.80 is unfit to practice on patients without close supervision and guidance from a senior consultant and should not be called a junior doctor.

@health2097 The £14.80 basic hourly rate only applies to first year trainees. Second year trainees receive a higher basic hourly rate and the basic hourly rate increases every year thereafter up to junior doctor level.
