@ NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but provide one of the worst services in Europe. British taxpayers are getting poor value for money.

@ Doctors have never had it so easy. Before Blair junior doctors worked over 100 hours a week with no overtime pay and GPs took responsibility for their patients at evenings and weekends; now many only work 3 days a week. Only a small percentage of British trained doctors leave the NHS because there is a lot of competition for better paid jobs and other countries can pick and choose.

@ Hospitals probably prefer to give placements to highly educated foreign doctors.

@ The 35% pay demand was based on the RPI measure of inflation which is no longer recognised by the ONS. When the correct CPI measure is applied the alleged “real terms pay cut” is significantly less than 35%.

Doctors have never had it so easy. Previous generations had to earn their place at medical school and were paid a relative pittance.
