No it’s a 5% pay rise - 105% of what they were getting before.

Only the low paid will be poorer by accepting any less than an inflation matching rise - the rich do not need index linked pay rises.

@ukguy the junior doctors claim that they have suffered a 26% real terms pay cut since 2008 is misleading as that figure is based on the RPI which is no longer used to calculate state pensions and benefits - if the recognised measure of the CPI is used instead they have only suffered a 16% pay cut in real terms.
