@gothicgolem2947 Full pay restoration? Their pay has not been cut.

@gothicgolem2947 or the government grows a pair.

@gothicgolem2947 No - they have already done that.

Costa Coffee staff are probably more competent than the new breed of dumbed down doctors.

originalpix Other countries can pick and choose and will select highly educated, properly trained, competent, world class doctors which excludes the vast majority of third rate, dumbed down British medics.

@siddhanthravichandran3245 NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but provide one of the worst services in Europe. British taxpayers are getting poor value for money.

@siddhanthravichandran3245 The average consultant salary in England last year was £121,226 and in Ireland it was £137,182 - nowhere near twice as much. Junior doctors are asking for a 35% pay rise - pay restoration does not apply as they have not suffered any real terms pay cuts. The average basic junior doctor salary is £55,000 which is a lot more than the minimum wage. The number of doctors leaving the NHS to work abroad is the same as it was 10 years ago - less than 5%. Every place at whatever passes for “medical school” these days is oversubscribed by at least 7 to 1 so there is no shortage of recruits eager to receive the world class salaries the NHS offer. Australia can pick and choose and will select highly educated, properly trained, competent doctors which excludes the vast majority of dumbed down British medics. British taxpayers who bankroll 80% of doctors tuition fees and 100% of their hospital training deserve a return on their investment and doctors should be contracted to work in the NHS for at least 10 years after graduation.
