@psps2034 Their pay has been increased every year.

@Bringon-dw8dx real terms pay cuts only apply to the low paid - highly paid consultants are immune to sub inflation pay rises.
2
@drjazz7278 the pay has increased year after year.

Import highly educated, properly trained, competent foreign doctors to replace them at a cheaper price.

@ThatHappyChap DON’T CAVE IN BARCLAY !!!
2
@Bringon-dw8dx They couldn’t care less about the NHS. All they care about is money.

@TEAMMAURICE NHS consultants are paid more than doctors in most developing and developed counties around the world.

@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx Real terms pay cuts only affect the low paid. A first year junior doctor starts on £35-40k so they are not low paid. Therefore if junior doctors receive a pay increase less than the headline rate of inflation they are not necessarily receiving a real terms pay cut. Consider yourself corrected.
1
@psps2034 Their pay has not been slashed. Every NHS doctor is now receiving a larger salary than they received in 2008.
1
@Bringon-dw8dx The figure was 35% a couple of weeks ago based on the outdated Retail Prices Index measure of inflation. How has that increased to 50% in such a short space of time?

@Ser3456 NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but provide one of the worst services in Europe.
1
@CrazyWabbit They also have to fund their own education and training unlike British doctors who can rely on the nanny state.
1
@Ser3456 What other countries pay their doctors is irrelevant. No NHS doctor has any right to compare their salary with another country whose doctors have to fund their own education.
1
@Ser3456 I never seem to hear British lawyers or bankers moaning about what lawyers and bankers are paid in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand - this sort of whinging appears to be the exclusive preserve of the medical “profession”.
1
@Ser3456 Those doctors are paid more because they are good at their job. NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but provide one of the worst services in Europe.
1
Sky TV presenters are not paid with other peoples taxes.
1
@Tutuking1 The BBC and the NHS both use taxpayers money to pay unrealistically extravagant salaries to their highest paid employees and both are past their sell by date.
1
Doctors are overpaid.
1
Overpaid doctors have a vocation to royally screw working class taxpayers. Only uneducated morons put the new breed of dumbed down British doctors on a pedestal.
1
The BMA has been allowed to get too powerful by the government.

@Bringon-dw8dx Better pay = less doctors = more rota gaps = worse training and more patients dying from poor staffing
