  4.  @D-Man_Jam  I should add that I'm not defending the manufacturers for doing this, I actually agree with you for the most. But as long as people keep buying them, manufacturers are going to keep doing it.

  5.  @D-Man_Jam  I treat myself to the Merc after nearly a decade of bad times. Besides, it's a stunningly beautiful car & Merc seem to have upped their game lately. I'm the opposite of a snob, I drive with a left foot accelerator adaptation after losing my right leg four years ago & I feel like less of a cripple in my A35. Next car will be a bit more sedate (but still German). Have a sub, I may as well help you reach your goal while I'm here.

  7.  @D-Man_Jam  A35 is 4wd in UK. It's a little FWD biased but the chassis is so good it's nearly impossible to upset it.

  12.  @D-Man_Jam  Ford, Peugeot, Citroën, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Mazda, McLaren, Morgan, Ariel, Porsche... Need I go on?

  13.  @D-Man_Jam  Yeah, but so do a lot of car manufacturers, even the boring ones. Whether it's limited editions or the various engine/trim/drivetrain packages. Porsche are particularly guilty of this, as are Lamborghini, Ferrari etc. I get your point but it's all for money & tastes. I'd love an AMG GT-R but not with a roll cage or stickers & I think the black edition would be too nuts for daily driving. I own an A35 AMG at the moment & it's plenty for UK roads. 4wd, 300hp & enough room for 4 passengers & luggage. There's not much that I encounter daily that can keep up with it. I do like Mercedes but I'm too old to ever be a fanboy. Really I'm just a fan of German cars in general. Solidly built machines.
