Comments by "Bob Monkeypimp" (@BobMonkeypimp) on "This is how the new Maserati MC20 will create 613bhp from its V6 using F1 tech" video.
MC means Maserati Corse - Maserati Racing in English. I think a lightweight 600+ Bhp Maserati is very deserving of the name.

I'd bet my left nut that the Maserati would be way more rewarding to drive too.

Somebody skips leg day.

Reliably. It's harder to do it reliably.

@leweee Yeah, but it's nice to remain optimistic... Maserati are using the 4c as a test mule but it hasn't been confirmed if they'll be using the 4c chassis for production. The 4c has a carbon fibre tub anyway so even if Maserati use it, it'll not turn into a pile of rust if it's parked in the rain for one night. Alfa aren't building the engine either. Not that I can afford one lol, I just think it'd be nice if Maserati build a decent car. As for your original statement, a 500hp turbocharged 4-Cylinder would generally be less responsive & more laggy than a turbocharged V6 producing the same power. I don't know why this video focused on the horsepower, a bit odd because it's fairly obvious that Maserati are building this engine for driveability.

No. No you couldn't.

If I were Ferrari I'd be releasing as many naturally aspirated V12 cars as possible before the world governments ban them.

I don't think he gives a f*ck what you think. I certainly don't.

Do you think Maserati just hire homeless people off the street for €20 Euro a day? "Hey random homeless Italian guy!! Wanna earn €20? We just need you to help design an engine for a few hours... Cool? Yeah? Just hop in the back of the van." Really??
1
@jareknowak8712 With Aston Martin it's a van. I just automatically assumed the Italians would do the same.
1
Any ridiculously powered van would be a laugh to drive.

@288gto7 Spoilsport.

I guarantee that you've never driven a mid-engine car with more than 140hp.

Your Mom's a rebadged Alfa :)

I bet the Koenigsegg costs at least twice as much though.

Or the chambers explode from the pressure & the top of the engine blows out through the rocker cover. Either way, totally worth it!

Take a look at the TopTenz Youtube channel. I don't know if he's still presenting the channel but there was a guy called Simon who waved his hands around so much it looked like interpretive dance.

A VR19 for added warbles. 🤣

Lag.

Car goes "broom".

@HHCHunterYTC A 600+ hp reasonably lightweight sports car. I bet it'll a load more rewarding to drive than a supercar & probably a lot quicker than the bloated supercars we have today. Then what is it? At what line does a car cross from sports car to supercar?
1
@PaulTC97 Koenigsegg Genara costs 1.8 million.

The reason cars are so high tech today is largely due to higher tech cars of the past. Motorsport has also provided road cars with advancements in safety & handling, engine technology etc etc.. These things always trickle down and benefit the average road user.

To add, some of the high tech features are legally mandated for high volume manufacturers. Low volume manufacturers (at least here in the UK) can sometimes avoid this. Cars like the Ariel Atom are stripped out sports cars that are road legal. Mazda's new MX-5 is actually lighter than the previous generation, not face-meltingly powerful but still a lightweight sports car.
