The fuel demand regardless of whether the engine has fuel injection or carb is dictated by the engine. The carburettor is just a mechanical fuel metering device. The engine demands a certain amount of air and the carb delivers the appropriate amount of fuel to match the air flow via appropriate jets in the carb. This gives the optimum fuel/air ratio. The throttle controls the air flow, not the fuel flow. The best that these sorts of devices can hope to achieve is a more complete combustion of the available fuel /air mixture but the clean plugs and pistons indicate the engines are already achieving close to complete combustion.

@1crazypj Sorry. I should have put it as a new comment rather than a reply to yours. Looking at the figures given, they are probably within the margin of error of the experiment. 19min 46sec vs 19min 37sec is less than 1% difference. The runs with the Chevy also gave inconclusive results.

The concept of using an engine to create its own fuel is inherently flawed as it violates the laws of thermodynamics. It may improve the combustion of the actual fuel used (gasoline/petrol) but as shown there is no evidence that this is the case and would be at best a tiny improvement.

My brother bought a cheap swimming pool and a large drum of molasses. Soaked an entire car body to remove the rust.

I make rims for 19th century style bicycles. I roll the rims and TIG weld them. To clean up the weld area I use JB weld as it makes a good filler and stands up to the heat of powder coating

@JohnJohnson-bg2oo Has you seen the size of the gas tank attached to the shuttle. The energy density of hydrogen per gallon is 7 times less than gasoline so mpg with hydrogen will be 7 times worse than gasoline for same power output. Your average US car will have to tow a large trailer of fuel behind it to keep up with the 2mpg
