To be fair it depends a lot on the tyres. A friend with a diesel modern Nissan got stuck returning my tandem trailer to my paddock. Even with trailer removed he was still stuck even with fancy electronic traction aids. I towed him out with my 60 year old Landrover. I then towed the tandem trailer in to the padock easily. The Nissans tyres were clogged easily so were as useful as slicks. The Landrovers traditional cleated tyres tackled the mud with ease.
