  2.  @adamm2716  That's fine but how do you look at a 5 year old and deny them an education based on money? How can you tell what they will become. Do you really want to go back to pre Victorian era? By the way I am nearly retired, no kids. So a fair chunk of my taxes has gone to educating children not my own.

That was the point I was making until you expanded things rather than admit your original point was wrong. Keeping it simple for you. Should taxpayers fund schools (not religious ones though) Yes. Can things be improved to make best use of those dollars? Of course.

  9.  @PonutsAreGreat  I am old enough to remember programming with punched cards. We were told computers would take jobs and we wouldn't need to go to work. I got called out yesterday to try and fix confusion in our computer system. I am a senior engineer in a large industrial plant. Google etc are investing in power plants as an AI search uses 10x that of a normal search. Improvement in efficiency?

  11. ​ @PonutsAreGreat  AI will be useful in the design phase but once we have an industrial machine working we don't want it going off making non compliant changes. Things are not always done the 'best' way but to meet market requirements and customer demands. Also, as computers age they can have subtle failures and as a human overseer I can think that is not right whereas a computer is more naive and trusting. Some people are like that too of course.
