My wife is no athlete but she had a traditional looking ladies bike with panniers and basket that she went to the shops on. There was a couple of hills for her to go to work so I fitted an electric motor and hid the batteries (sealed lead acid in those days) in a pannier. (long before ebikes were available) The first time she rode to work her boss was following her and half killed himself trying to catch up as he couldn't believe her apparent stamina.

@ With motorcycles there is the much higher road tax and insurance. Having to pedal gives exercise too. Running costs. Tyres cheaper and if I do road trip to work of 8 miles each way use 5c of electricity
