  1.  @OMDTRoad  The dry areas of Antarctica would be a closer fit. Cold, dry but at least there is oxygen. If it cannot be made to work there it will not work on Mars

  2.  @OMDTRoad  I was thinking the dry areas of Antarctica would be a better challenge due to the difficult access and cold temperatures like on Mars. They should go to orbit too and land as a proof of concept. At least a rescue would be possible.
