  1. In all seriousness, my thoughts are with the family members and friends of those lost off the coast of Greece and Canada. Including all who are directly impacted as professionals, and those emotionally and physically exhausted from the search operation and other rescue efforts, and all sufferers of trauma for whom this is a visceral story. That said, in the tradition of dark humor serving as a light for many souls faced with indignity and hardship because of the status quo and stolen generational wealth, or outraged by it as a historical fact and ongoing crime: There's an old "mad-lib" style joke my father used to tell using lawyers. Afaik it's a classic bit from pre-vaudeville days. It has played back in my head a few times as [I learned of] the details of this adventure tourism by some ultra-wealthy and/or privileged people, who were made fully aware of the dangers involved. COMIC: How many narcissistic billionaire thrill-seekers would fit in the Atlantic ocean? STRAIGHT: I don't know. How many? COMIC: I don't know either, but I'm willing to find out.
